Considering using cloth diapers?
There are many reasons that you might choose to use cloth diapers.
Cloth diapers are soft against your baby’s skin. Cloth diapers are also free of the many chemicals contained in disposable diapers. And of course cloth diapers are the ultimate in recycling because they are used again and again, not entering a landfill until they are nothing but rags, which is good for the environment and your pocketbook!
In Kelowna there are several options when it comes to purchasing cloth diapers and their accessories. Check out the following local stores and businesses that deal in cloth diapering:
It wasn’t until Jennifer Collins became pregnant that she really immersed herself into the world of cloth diapers, and discovered WOW what a world it was! She had no idea there were so many different varieties but she knew that she wanted to cloth diaper her child. She wanted the best for her baby – something that would be natural and soft against her baby’s skin. However the more she looked the harder it was to find affordable options that combined her desire for natural fabrics.
So Jen and her Mom decided to use their amazing sewing skills to make their own diapers, experimenting with different fabrics and patterns until they had found several fabrics that they loved. After much tweaking and altering they finally had a set of patterns that worked well for fit and absorbency - and used all natural fabrics.
Little Llama Cloth Diapers was born.
Little Llama’s intentions are simple; to offer cloth diapers that are ultra absorbent, natural, and just as soft as your baby’s bum - at an affordable price.
Little Llama offers you All in Ones (AIO), Fitted Diapers, Waterproof diaper covers (PUL’s), soaker pads (or doublers) and prefolds, as well as a hybrid (tuckable) diaper system.
All of their diapers are lovingly homemade by moms in Canada,
with premium fabrics, elastics, and closures. Their diapers are made from 16 oz premium hemp fleece knit in the USA and
16 oz bamboo fleece scoured, brushed (the softest you will find) and knit in the USA as well as organic cottons milled in the USA and Canada.
All soaker pads, whether sewn in or doublers for heavy wetters and bedtime, have one layer of Zorb II Dimples (absorbs 20x faster than cotton and holds moisture without leaks) and either 2 layers hemp fleece or a combination of hemp and bamboo fleece (hemp and bamboo fibers are 3 to 4 times more absorbent and retain moisture better under compression than cotton).
The new Dimples Diaper has a polyester Stay Dry lining, as opposed to natural fiber inner lining in all the rest. Hemp and Bamboo diapers can be ordered with all Stay Dry linings, absorbency is only slightly lowered, as the sewn in soaker pad does most of the work, and the outer will be Hemp or Bamboo for maximum absorbency.
